Company History

Rochester Rigging & Erectors, Inc., has been fabricating and installing structural and miscellaneous steel items since 1989. The business was started by Roger Taube.  Roger had began his career as a union ironworker then transitioned into estimating and project supervision with The Pike Company and LeChase Construction Services, LLC.  Kelly Gilligan, started working with her father in 1990 after working down in the Washington D.C. area for design-build firms after college. They built the business slowly over time and now have over 25 employees and sales topping close to ten million dollars. Roger Taube has since retired from the business and the operations are now headed exclusively by Kelly Gilligan. Ed Gilligan, her husband was brought into the family business in 1998 as General Manager. As a family business with over 30 years experience, we work with some of Rochester’s premier contractors and owners. From hand railings and stairs to complete free-standing structures, Rochester Rigging and Erectors, Inc. has put together an impressive record of high-quality and on-time competed projects.

On June 30, 2023, the shareholders of BVR Construction Company, Inc. along with several key employees of Rochester Rigging, Inc. acquired the assets of Rochester Rigging & Erectors, Inc. from Kelly Gilligan and renamed the company. This combination created an organization even better able to serve their customers and provide a wider array of services. The new management team shares the same values as Rochester Rigging & Erectors, Inc. and intends to continue the tradition of excellent service and on-time, safe project fulfillment.

Chip Stephenson, President is a pension and welfare trustee of the Iron Workers District Council of Western New York, and also serves as President and a director of the Upstate Ironworkers Employers’ Association, Inc.
